Dragon Boat Canada Safe Steering Course
Learn or brush up on your steering skills and earn DBC steering certification, after passing an in-course assessment.
Accreditation requirements include course attendance, successful display of required skills acquisition, proof of Safe Sport, Pleasure Craft Operators License and First Aid Certification. See the bottom of the page for more information.
Classroom session: Everyone
Friday, February 20, 2026. Online (Zoom), 6:00-8:00 pm Vancouver time.
Attendance is required for certification. Review of a recorded session does not meet the requirements.
On-water session: Two time slots, attend one
Sunday, May 31, 2026,
Time slot 1: 12:00-3:00 pm.
Time slot 2: 3:00-6:00 pm
This session is for practice and assessment.

Requirements for certification in this course is:
SafeSport course. It’s free and all online. https://coach.ca/sport-safety/create-quality-sport-environment
First Aid including CPR and AED. There are several providers that offer this. You can take the 8-hour or 16-hour course. Online courses are not accepted.
